Welcome to Crash & Safety Consultants, LLC.  We are a full service company providing traffic crash reconstruction services.  We do this by collecting the physical evidence, which includes event data retrieval from air bag modules, power train control modules, CMV electronic control modules and vehicle control modules.  We then perform an analysis of the crash dynamics through the physical evidence and then correlate the imaged information from the vehicle's event data recorder to obtain the "full picture" of the crash, which could possibly include events leading up to the collision.  Detailed vehicle inspections are conducted by documenting through photographs and measurements of the vehicle's crush damage and use of the Bosch crash data retrieval system, the Detroit Diesel Data Link, the Caterpillar Electronic Technician and the Cummins PowerSpec as it applies to the vehicles in the collision.  We also utilize a state of the art robotic mapping instrument to map the crash site.

CSC has extensive training and experience in commercial motor vehicle reconstruction and has previously served in law enforcement.  CSC has provided expert testimony in numerous state and federal courts during the past 11 years. 

CSC professional staff has been trained by the North American Transportation Management Institute and are able to provide training and assist in the development and management of a detailed Fleet Safety Program to meet the specific needs of your operation.

The most important factor in performing a thorough crash reconstruction is time. 

Physical evidence as in tire marks, scrapes and final rest locations will diminish over time which makes it difficult to accurately  determine vehicle speeds or location in roadway prior to or at impact.

Sometimes, vehicles are sold and dismantled, limiting the amount of crash related data collected from the vehicle.

Vehicle recorded crash data will most likely be "lost" or "re-written" if not captured immediately after the collision. 

With CMVs, if the tractor or trailer remains in operation after the collision, the brake adjustments can change, skewing the calculated braking efficiency of the CMV.
